Alabaster chandeliers

The main light for living rooms, dining rooms and halls. The stone glows through the whole shade, warm and glare-free.

What is an alabaster chandelier?

It is a ceiling light with several shades, or one large form, made of natural alabaster that provides the main light in a room. The stone diffuses light across its whole surface, so even a large chandelier does not dazzle. When it is on, every shade shows its own pattern of veins.

How to choose the size of a chandelier

Add the length and width of the room in metres and multiply by 10. The result is the approximate diameter of the chandelier in centimetres. Above a table, the chandelier should be about 30 cm narrower than the table top so it does not overwhelm the people sitting there.

  • × 10Room length plus width in metres, times 10, gives the diameter in cm. A 4 × 5 m room: about 90 cm.
  • 30 cmHow much narrower than the table top a chandelier above a table should be.
  • 75-90 cmFrom the table top to the bottom of the chandelier.
  • 210 cmMinimum height of the bottom of the chandelier above the floor in walkways.

Round or linear?

A round chandelier anchors a square room and suits a round table. Above a long table or an island, a linear chandelier works better because it lights the whole top. Cascades of globes at different heights fill tall halls and stairwells.

Ceiling and installation

A stone chandelier is heavier than a glass one. Large models are fixed to the structural ceiling, and a suspended ceiling needs reinforcement. Dimensions are on the product page; ask us about the weight of a specific model before you buy. Have it installed by an electrician.

Where to hang an alabaster chandelier

Living room

Above the seating area or in the centre of the room. Add wall sconces so the evening light does not come only from above.

Dining room

Centred over the table, not the room. Above a long table, a linear chandelier or two smaller ones.

Hall and stairs

A cascade of globes or a multi-level chandelier fills a tall space and is seen from several floors.

Bedroom

With a ceiling from about 2.7 m, a small chandelier. With a lower one, an alabaster ceiling light is better.

How much light does an alabaster chandelier give?

The stone softens the light, so an alabaster chandelier glows gently rather than spotlighting. In a large living room, or for working at the table, add a second light source.

Several G9 or E14 shades
The most common layout in our chandeliers. Each shade glows on its own, together they give even, diffused light.
E27
Larger bulbs in single bowls. Easy to choose the wattage and colour.
Integrated LED
A module built into the lamp, no bulbs to replace. Covered by the 3-year warranty.

Questions about alabaster chandeliers

What size chandelier for a 20 m² living room?

For a room of about 4 × 5 m the rule gives a diameter of about 90 cm. With a lower ceiling, choose a flat chandelier or a smaller diameter of about 60-70 cm, and add wall sconces.

How high should a chandelier hang above a dining table?

The bottom of the chandelier usually hangs 75-90 cm (about 30-35 in) above the table top. Where people walk, leave at least about 210 cm (7 ft) above the floor.

How much does an alabaster chandelier cost?

From 268,80 €. Half of the models start below 1.440 €. The largest compositions with dozens of shades cost considerably more. Prices as of October 2026.

Does an alabaster chandelier suit a low room?

With a ceiling lower than about 2.5 m, choose a flat semi-flush chandelier or an alabaster ceiling light. Remember to keep about 210 cm of clear space under the lamp where people walk.

Is an alabaster chandelier heavy?

It is heavier than a glass one, because the shades are stone. We will give you the weight of a specific model before you buy. Large chandeliers are fixed to the structural ceiling, not to plasterboard alone.

Which bulbs for an alabaster chandelier?

Warm LED, 2700-3000 K. Our chandeliers most often use G9 and E14 sockets, less often E27 or integrated LED. The socket is listed on the product page.

Can I order a chandelier in a different size?

Yes. To order we can change the size and structure of the fitting, the stone variety and the finish of the metal parts. The lead time is agreed with the quote.

Not sure which model to choose?

Tell us about the room and the ceiling height. We will suggest a model, size and finish.
