Materials and Craftsmanship
Stone, glass, and metal. Up close.
What Lumiesta lamps are made from and how they are created: natural stone, metal-layered glass, and copper fittings.

Copper Fittings
The fittings of all our collections have a copper body. Most finishes are applied galvanically: in an electrolytic bath, a thin, even layer of metal is deposited on the copper surface, bonding permanently with the substrate. Matte black is durable powder coating.
This allows the same fixture to have the cool luster of chrome, the warmth of brushed gold, or deep black, while the finish remains even on edges, threads, and joints.
Two Standard Colors
Brushed gold and matte black, for all collections.
- Brushed GoldWarm gold with a delicate, linear brushed texture.
- Matte BlackDeep black without reflections. Graphic contrast with stone.
Special Order
Eight additional finishes and any shade matched to the project.
- Light Gold
- Antique Gold
- Antique Bronze
- Antique black
- Copper
- Rose Gold
- Chrome Silver

Why Galvanization
- Durable Color The coating is metal bonded to the substrate, so it does not peel or chip.
- Copper Protection The galvanic layer protects copper from oxidation, so the fitting retains its appearance for years.
- Depth of Finish Metal reflects light differently than lacquer: the luster is pure, and matte and brushed surfaces have true texture.
- Simple Maintenance A dry, soft cloth is sufficient. No abrasives or chemicals.
How a Fitting Is Made
- Copper Body Fitting elements are made from copper and prepared for the specific fixture.
- Surface Preparation Grinding, polishing, and degreasing. This determines whether the coating will be perfectly even.
- Galvanic Bath Current deposits a layer of metal in the chosen color onto the copper.
- Finishing Brushing, patinating, or matting gives the final character. Each fitting undergoes inspection before assembly.
Spanish Alabaster
Alabaster is a soft, translucent stone that, when the lamp is lit, glows through its entire thickness. We work with natural Spanish alabaster. Light draws out the pattern of veins invisible by day, so no two lamps are identical.
Fittings are copper: standard brushed gold or matte black, other colors available on special order.
Made to order we will modify the dimensions and construction of the fixture: length, diameter, drop height, number and arrangement of shades. We also create entirely new fixtures to specification.
Four Stone Varieties
From pure white to pronounced brown veins. You select the variety for the specific fixture.
Pure White
Uniform, milky white with barely visible patterning. The calmest, most even light.
Cream
Warm base with soft tonal transitions. Honey-toned light.
Veined
Light background with a distinct network of veins that, when lit, form a graphic pattern.
Brown Veined
Most pronounced: brown and amber veins on a warm background.
From Block to Shade
- Block Stone arrives in large, raw blocks. We select fragments with patterning suited to the given fixture.
- Machine Cutting Blocks are machine-cut into elements with precise dimensions.
- Hand Shaping Each element is hand-ground and shaped for the specific fixture until it achieves the proper thickness and translucency.
- Assembly Stone is joined with copper fittings in the chosen color.
Venezia, Metal-Layered Glass
Fixtures in the Venezia collection are made from glass onto which we galvanically apply a thin layer of metal. The color does not sit on the glass like paint, but forms a single, metallic surface with it. This gives the hue depth and luster that lacquer cannot achieve.
- Depth of Color The metallic coating produces a lustrous hue that shifts with viewing angle and light intensity.
- Does Not Yellow Color is created by metal, not pigment or lacquer, so it does not fade or yellow from the lamp’s light and heat.
- Easy Maintenance The smooth, sealed surface does not collect dust in pores. Simply wipe with a soft cloth.
Standard fittings: copper, brushed gold, or matte black, as in the Alabaster collection. On special order, we will match the fitting finish to the glass color and modify dimensions.
Travertine
Travertine is a natural stone formed over thousands of years from mineral deposits in spring water. Hence its characteristic pores, layered pattern, and warm, sandy hue. It has a soft, matte expression and looks good both in daylight and in the evening.
- Texture Open pores and horizontal layers give the lamp a sculptural character.
- Unique Each element is cut from natural stone, so the arrangement of pores and grain does not repeat.
- Made to Order Fitting color, fixture dimensions, and stone shade are matched to the project.
Marble
Marble is a natural stone with a compact structure and distinct veining. Polished, it has a smooth, cool-to-the-touch surface that emphasizes the geometry of the fixture. The vein pattern arranges itself differently each time, so every lamp has its own design.
- Other Stone Colors Selected fixtures can be made in a different marble color than shown in the catalog, matched to the interior design.
- Fittings Gold or black as standard, other colors on special order.
- Dimensions Length, diameter, and drop height will be adapted to the space.
A Lamp Designed for a Specific Interior
Most fixtures from our collections can be prepared in a made-to-order version. We work with interior designers, architects, showrooms, and private clients.
What We Can Modify
- Fitting Color Gold or black as standard, eight other finishes, or any shade to order.
- Dimensions Length, diameter, drop height, number and arrangement of shades.
- Material Alabaster variety, travertine shade, marble color.
- New Fixture Lamp from the ground up according to drawing, dimensions, or reference image.
How We Work
- Inquiry You send a description, dimensions, drawing, or inspiration image.
- Quotation and Selection We propose a solution, select stone and fitting finish, provide price and timeline.
- Production 4-5 weeks from project approval.
- Delivery The lamp arrives securely packaged at the specified address, including abroad for B2B clients.
Lamps made to individual specification are not subject to return.
Good to Know
Natural Stone Is Not a Printed Pattern
Alabaster, travertine, and marble are natural stones. Variations in color and veining, minor pores, or discolorations are their characteristic, not a defect. Photographs show the character of the stone, and the lamp you receive will have its own pattern.
Maintenance
| Material | How to Care | What to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Alabaster | Dry, soft cloth or dusting brush. | Water, detergents, and alcohol. Alabaster is soft and sensitive to moisture. |
| Travertine and Marble | Dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth. | Acidic agents (vinegar, citrus) that dull the stone. |
| Venezia Glass | Soft cloth, lightly dampened with water if needed. | Abrasive agents and rough sponges that may scratch the coating. |
| Fittings | Dry, soft cloth. | Polishing pastes and chemicals that may damage the coating. |
Disconnect power and wait for the lamp to cool before cleaning.
