Fabric or stone shade?
A stone base with a fabric shade gives more light, suitable for reading. A stone mushroom or globe shines down and around itself, creating mood lighting on a sideboard or table.
A pair or a single lamp?
A pair of matching lamps beside a bed or console creates symmetry. A single travertine lamp on shelving or a sideboard acts as an accent, especially in yellow or black.
How to choose a table lamp size
On a bedside table, the shade bottom should be roughly level with the chin of someone sitting in bed. On a sideboard, the lamp should be no wider than about one third of the furniture. These are rules of thumb.

Will every lamp look like the photo?
Shape, size and fittings will match. Pores and stone shade always differ slightly because each element is cut from another piece of travertine. This is a feature of natural stone, not a defect.
