Estepa - alabaster disc table lamp

Alabaster disc table lamp

Instead of a tall lampshade, a flat disc sits on a gold-toned base that tapers towards the top. Estepa’s silhouette recalls mid-century lamps, but gives alabaster the leading role: when lit, its pale surface reveals an irregular pattern of veins. This is a design to appreciate up close, on a sideboard or a table beside an armchair, where both the stone and the proportions of the metal elements are visible.

Why choose this lamp

• A diameter of 30 cm and a height of 40 cm create a distinctive silhouette on a sideboard, without the scale of a floor lamp.
• The built-in LED module means there is no need to choose a separate bulb for the fitting.
• It plugs into a 230V socket, with no need for a permanent wall connection.

Design and materials

A metal band wraps around the lower edge of the alabaster disc, creating a clear boundary between the pale stone and the gold-toned surface. The rounded edge of the shade softens the geometry, while a small cylindrical element at the top echoes the colour of the base. The base itself widens towards the bottom; its surface shows the subtle texture of the metal and elongated reflections. Natural alabaster brings variation to this structured form: each piece has its own pattern of veins, so no two will be identical.

Light and comfort

Light from the integrated LED module passes through the alabaster, which diffuses it and highlights variations in the stone’s pattern. Light also emerges from beneath the disc, illuminating the base and part of the surface below. Position the lamp so that tall decorative objects do not obscure the shade: this allows you to see the illuminated surface and lets the light reach its surroundings freely. If you want a warm light for relaxing in the evening, confirm the module’s colour temperature before buying. With this lamp, you cannot select it by choosing a bulb.

Where it fits

• A living room sideboard: the 30 cm diameter disc creates a distinct accent beside books or low ceramic pieces, particularly in a mid-century-inspired interior.
• A hallway console table: the gold-toned metal works well with a mirror frame in a similar shade, and plugging it into a nearby socket requires no wall lighting point.
• A wider bedside table: the height of 40 cm lets you display the stone shade beside the bed; before positioning it, allow for its 30 cm diameter and leave space for everyday essentials.
