Alabaster dome pendant light

A milky dome, a slender metal suspension and a small arch above the shade - these three elements define Chinchon’s form. The alabaster itself holds the most detail, with irregular, warmer streaks breaking up the white. When lit, the stone shade takes on a gentle glow, clearly visible above a table or kitchen island.

Why choose this light

• Alabaster allows light to pass through its structure, so the glowing dome highlights the stone’s natural pattern rather than remaining an opaque cover.
• You can choose between two sizes: 18 cm in diameter and height or 28 cm in diameter and height. The smaller version lets you create an arrangement of several fittings, while the larger one makes a more distinct focal point above a worktop.
• A replaceable light source means you do not need to replace the entire light when the bulb reaches the end of its life.
• You can match the metal finish to other details in your interior: copper, brushed nickel and matt black are available.

Design and materials

The sides of the dome widen towards the bottom, ending in an even, circular rim. The solid stone form is balanced by the slender suspension and arched metal connector, which leaves a small gap above the shade. Natural alabaster has its own individual pattern, so two pieces may share the same shape but will not be identical. The copper-coloured finish brings out the warmer tones of the stone, brushed nickel creates a more understated pairing with the white, and matt black provides a clear contrast between the metal elements and the pale dome.

Light and comfort

Diffused light filters through the alabaster, revealing variations in the stone’s structure. At the same time, the open bottom of the shade illuminates the surface directly beneath the fitting. White alabaster does not mean a cool light colour - you choose this with the replaceable light source. For evening meals, choose a compatible warm-white light source rather than expecting the stone itself to warm up cool light.

Where it works

• Above a dining table - the 28 cm diameter version defines the centre of the dining area, while the rounded shade offers a gentle counterpoint to the straight edges of the tabletop.
• Above a kitchen island - you can position several 18 cm diameter fittings along the worktop, repeating the small stone form rather than hanging one large, elaborate light.
• Above a coffee table - the smaller dome lets you centre the arrangement on stone and light, without a large shade dominating the seating area.
