From a single cone to an arrangement of eleven lights, Ubeda changes in scale while retaining the same slender white alabaster shade. The multi-light versions form a close cluster, with the stone elements hanging at different heights. Above a table, this form has a distinct presence, but the space between the shades keeps the arrangement from becoming a heavy, solid mass.

Design and materials

The shades are narrow at the top and widen towards the bottom; cream and honey-coloured streaks run across their pale surfaces. In the multi-light arrangement, thin metal suspensions run from the round ceiling rose to each stone cone, emphasising the vertical rhythm of the design. The structure is made from iron, with a choice of white paired with copper-coloured or black finishes. The former gives the fitting a warmer appearance, while the latter creates a stronger contrast between the metal lines and the pale stone. Natural alabaster has a different pattern in every piece, so no two lights will have identical veining.

Light and comfort

Light passing through the alabaster illuminates the surface of the shade while keeping the stone’s pattern visible. The white material does not mean a cool light colour - you choose this with the replaceable light source. For evening meals and relaxation, choose a warm light source that meets the fitting’s requirements. When planning its position above a table, also make sure that the lowest shade does not obscure the faces of people sitting opposite.

• In a living room with wood and light-coloured fabrics - the copper and white finish echoes the warm tones of the furnishings, while the alabaster adds a contrasting texture alongside upholstery and wood.
