Carmona - alabaster table lamp with an asymmetrical base

Alabaster table lamp, lampshade ø: 45 cm

At 86 cm tall, Carmona needs space on a broad piece of furniture. Carmona is sized to suit a generous sideboard: a wide lampshade crowns an alabaster base reminiscent of a stone sculpture. The muted green, beige and irregular streaks in the stone are best appreciated against a calm backdrop, without a row of small objects placed right beside it.

Why choose this lamp

• The alabaster base brings the visible pattern of natural stone into your interior, remaining decorative even when the light is off.
• A height of 86 cm and diameter of 45 cm allow you to create a striking arrangement on a large piece of furniture without adding further ornaments.
• When the light source reaches the end of its life, you can replace it without replacing the entire fitting.
• All you need to connect it is a 230V socket - the lamp is powered by a plug, so it does not require a separate wall connection.

Design and materials

The base consists of two adjoining vertical elements of different heights, with gently rounded upper edges. Light streaks run through the grey-green stone, forming softer, more diffuse patches in places. Each piece of natural alabaster has its own veining, so no two pieces will be identical. A short metal connector in a golden tone separates the beige cylindrical lampshade from the base - a small detail between two substantial forms.

Light and comfort

The wide lampshade shields the light source from the sides and softens its glow. Light also escapes through the top and bottom, illuminating the space above the fitting and part of the surface below. The light colour is determined by the replaceable light source you choose, not the green shade of the base. If you are positioning the lamp for evening relaxation, choose a compatible warm-white light source - the beige lampshade alone is no substitute for this choice.

Where it works

• Living room, on a wide sideboard - the lamp’s large scale suits a substantial piece of furniture, while the green and beige can be paired with wood and a light-coloured wall.
• Spacious hallway, on a deep console table - the 45 cm diameter needs room, so it is best placed on a generous piece of furniture away from a narrow passageway.
• Study, on a cabinet beside the desk - you can position additional light close to your workspace without a large fitting taking up the desktop space needed for documents.

Variants

• Colour: Green and Beige.
