What is a Venetian style chandelier?

A chandelier made of glass elements in a Venetian style: petals, discs or wavy shades on a metal structure. In our Venice collection, a thin metal layer is electroplated onto the glass, creating a deep, glossy colour that does not fade or yellow.

How to choose a Venetian style chandelier size

Add the room length and width in metres and multiply by 10 for an approximate diameter in centimetres. Above a table, the chandelier should be about 30 cm narrower than the top.

  • × 10Room length plus width in metres, times 10, gives diameter in cm. A 4 × 5 m room: about 90 cm.
  • 30 cmHow much narrower than the table top a chandelier should be.
  • 75-90 cmFrom the table top to the bottom of the chandelier.
  • 210 cmMinimum clearance below the chandelier in walkways.

Petals, discs or globes?

A petal cascade creates the richest classic form and looks best in a living room or hall. Glass discs make a layered, more graphic shape. Globes and linear arrangements are lighter and suit a dining table.

Ceiling and installation

A glass and metal chandelier is fixed to the structural ceiling. For large, multi-level models, plan the fixing before purchase and use an electrician for installation. Dimensions are on the product page.

Where to hang a Venetian style chandelier

Living room

A large cascade above the seating area as the main light and decorative centrepiece.

Dining room

Centred over the table, about 30 cm narrower than the top, or a linear model above a long table.

Bedroom

A smaller white or pink chandelier, with sconces in the same glass.

Hall and stairs

A multi-level cascade fills a tall space and is visible from several levels.

Bulbs in a Venetian style chandelier

Glass takes on the light colour, so bulb choice matters. Details are on the product page.

E12 and E14
The most common sockets in our Venetian style chandeliers. Small bulbs fit between the glass elements.
Edison
Many models can use decorative Edison-style bulbs with a visible filament.
E27
Larger bulbs in models with large shades.
Dimming
Some models support it, as listed on the product page.

Questions about Venetian style chandeliers

Is this Murano glass?

Our chandeliers are in a Venetian style. We do not describe them as Murano glass. The colour comes from a thin metal layer electroplated onto the glass.

How much does a Venetian style chandelier cost?

From 84,00 €. Half the models start below 1.800 €; large multi-level arrangements cost more. Prices as of October 2026.

Which glass colour should I choose?

Amber warms the room and suits gold and wood. White gives calm, diffused light. Clear glass sparkles most; pink, green and blue create a bold accent.

How high should a chandelier hang above a table?

The bottom usually hangs 75-90 cm above the table top. In walkways, leave at least about 210 cm above the floor.

How do I clean a glass chandelier?

Switch off the lamp, let it cool and wipe the glass with a soft cloth, slightly water-dampened if needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners and rough sponges.

Does the glass colour yellow?

No. The colour comes from metal rather than lacquer, so it does not fade or yellow from the lamp’s light and heat.

Not sure which model to choose?

Tell us about the room and the ceiling height. We will suggest a model, size and finish.
