Alabaster Chandelier, Height 35 cm

Alabaster does not tolerate repetition. Each block of stone has its own pattern of veins, so the fitting enters an interior as a piece that no one else will buy. In Setenil, this stone meets brushed copper, which holds the form and gives it a warm metallic gleam. The whole piece is 35 cm high, a medium scale: enough to organise the light above a table, and compact enough not to dominate the room.

Why this lamp?

Alabaster instead of glass: light passes through the stone more gently, and the veins remain visible even when the fitting is switched on.
Brushed copper: a matt, warm surface that does not scatter the mirror-like reflections typical of polished metal around the interior.
Height 35 cm: this scale fits above a tabletop and in a hallway, where a taller shade would already require a raised ceiling.
Ceiling mounting and 230V power supply: the lamp connects to a typical Polish installation, with no additional elements beyond the ceiling.

Design and materials

The form is low and focused, built around the stone rather than an elaborate frame. Alabaster has a milky, slightly translucent structure: it contains thinner and thicker veins, subtle discolourations, and areas of greater density. The copper here is brushed, so up close you can see fine, parallel tool marks, while from a few metres away the fitting reads as a warm, matt accent. The 35 cm height gives the whole piece a proportion closer to a decorative detail than to a classic, multi-tier chandelier.

Light and comfort

Alabaster diffuses the light before it reaches the room. The stone blurs the outline of the source, softens harsh shadows on the walls, and itself becomes a bright, glowing surface. That is why the fitting creates an evening mood rather than the effect of an office fluorescent tube. For the living room and bedroom, choose a source with a colour temperature of 2700 K, and if the lamp is also to illuminate work at the table, go for a higher output and a cooler colour. Hang it so that the lower edge is above the eye level of people sitting at the tabletop.

Where it fits

Dining room above the table: 35 cm in height gives clearance above the tabletop, and the stone looks good alongside wood and ceramics.
Living room, where the fitting is to complement the arrangement of the sofa and coffee table, not play first fiddle in it.
Hall or hallway with a higher ceiling: a tall space does not need a large shade if the light is only to be an accent at the entrance.
Bedroom or study in an Art Deco or glamour key, where copper and stone are already part of the material palette.
