Orvieto - travertine ceiling light with cylindrical shades

Travertine cluster ceiling light

Short stone cylinders, grouped just below the ceiling, create a compact sculptural composition. Orvieto’s character comes from the porous surface of yellow travertine and the edges of the shades set at different heights. The overall profile remains low: depending on the size, it is 10 or 12 cm high, so this decorative form does not need a high-ceilinged room.

Why choose this light

• Yellow travertine brings visible stone texture to the ceiling, contrasting well with smooth plaster and simple fitted furniture.
• At 10 or 12 cm high, the fitting takes up little space below the ceiling - important where you do not want a long drop.
• Two sizes let you match the proportions to the installation location: the narrower version is 15 cm wide and the wider one 26 cm, both with the same length of 26 cm.

Design and materials

Small pores, indentations and subtle variations in sandy yellow tones are visible on the surface of the shades. The curved sides sit next to one another, but the offset cylinders mean that their lower edges do not form a single level line. The thickness of the stone rims gives this compact form visual weight. Iron completes the construction, while the metal elements visible near the ceiling remain a discreet backdrop to the travertine.

Light and comfort

The open-bottomed shades direct light beneath the fitting, while the illuminated interiors of the cylinders highlight the texture of the stone. Bright, circular surfaces are surrounded by thicker stone rims. The warm tone of the travertine gives the light a warmer appearance, but does not itself determine the colour temperature of the light emitted. If you are concerned about a cool effect or unsuitable brightness, you can discuss the choice of colour temperature and wattage for your interior during a free Lumiesta consultation.

Where it works

• A hallway with a lower ceiling - the low-profile fitting introduces a stone detail without a long drop above the walkway.
• A living room with simple fitted furniture - porous travertine and curved shades break up the smooth surfaces of furniture and walls.
• A dining room without a pendant light - ceiling mounting leaves the space above the table clear, while the sandy yellow tone works well with a wooden tabletop.
