Lerici - alabaster hourglass wall light with bronze

Lerici is an alabaster wall light made up of two identical shades: one facing upwards, the other downwards. Each shade is a cylinder that narrows in a gentle arc at the middle, so together they form an hourglass silhouette. At the waist, a flat band in aged bronze wraps around them, connected to a round backplate.

Why this lamp?

Natural stone - each shade has its own pattern of clouds and veins.
Hourglass form - two shades meet at a narrow waist.
Dark metal - the band and backplate contrast with the pale stone.
Warm glow - once lit, the stone becomes translucent and reveals its structure.
Slim silhouette - 10 cm wide, it fits narrow walls.

Design and materials

The shades are made of natural alabaster. The stone is milky white, with soft grey clouds and thin amber veins. It has a satin, slightly translucent surface.

The flat band in aged bronze wraps around the narrowed ends of the shades and curves into a round backplate. The wall light is 34 cm high, 10 cm wide and projects 12 cm from the wall.

Light and control

The LED light source is concealed in the shades. When lit, the light passes through the stone and the veins and clouds become more pronounced. The wall above and below the light receives a soft, warm glow.

The wall light is switched on with a wall switch.

Where it fits

Bedroom - a pair of wall lights on both sides of the bed instead of bedside lamps.
Hallway and entrance hall - several wall lights in a row on a long wall.
Living room and dining room - atmospheric light on the wall next to the sofa or sideboard.

Off and on

The wall light comes in one version: alabaster with metal in aged bronze. When off, it looks like a pale stone sculpture on the wall, and when on it glows warmly through the whole stone.
