Design and materials

Funchal is a modern interpretation of the capsule form. The upper part is dark, matte metal with a compact, minimalist body, intersected by a vertical “keyhole” cutout – a subtle but distinctive detail that adds depth to the design. The lower part is made of white, semi-translucent alabaster. When the lamp is on, the stone gently glows and reveals its natural pattern.

Each alabaster shade is unique – veining and stone texture vary between pieces. This gives you an original accent in the interior rather than a repeatable, “mass” detail. The black-and-white composition (metal + alabaster) delivers a classic, versatile effect that pairs well with wood, concrete, stone or white walls.

Light and comfort

The integrated LED source and alabaster shade work together to emit even, gentle light – easy on the eyes, conducive to conversation and relaxation. The stone acts as a natural diffuser: it mutes hotspots and scatters the beam so surfaces and countertops are lit softly, without harsh light edges.

You have light color options of 3000K / 4000K / 6000K (warm, neutral, cool), so you can choose the character of the lighting to suit the area’s function:

Selection tips

• Over a table 120–160 cm wide usually 1–2 fixtures are enough; for 180–220 cm consider 2–3 fixtures spaced evenly.
• Maintain spacing between lamps at roughly 1–1.5 times the shade diameter (approx. 15–20+ cm) so the light blends evenly.
• Set the height above the surface so the bottom edge of the shade is roughly 70–90 cm above the surface – comfortable for the eyes and conversation.
• If you want to highlight the stone’s veining, hang the lamp slightly lower and choose a warmer light color.
