Design and materials

Atacamis is a composition of 28 alabaster spheres, each 25 cm in diameter. Arranged at varying heights they form a free, cascading “cloud” of light that looks light and sculptural both from below and from mezzanine level. Alabaster – a natural stone – has subtle veining and translucency, so when lit it gently “lives”, revealing the depth of the material.

The whole is suspended from a gold canopy and cords in a color matched to the body. The gold accent gives a feeling of warmth and luxury without overpowering – an elegance that works with modern minimalism as well as modern classic interiors. Each alabaster shade has a unique pattern of veins and tones – so your lamp will be one of a kind (stone pattern may differ from photos).

Proportions are key: with Ø100 cm and a composition height up to 300 cm the lamp has the scale necessary to “hold” tall interiors, while the arrangement of spheres gives it surprising optical lightness.

Light and comfort

Selection tips

• Scale: at Ø100 cm the lamp looks best in spaces with a noticeably higher ceiling or open mezzanines; in smaller rooms treat it as a dominant sculptural light.
• Above a table: for round tops it usually works when the lamp’s diameter is about 1/2–2/3 of the table diameter; remember comfortable clearance above the tabletop.
• Color temperature: 3000K adds coziness in relaxation zones, 4000K is the most universal for day areas, 6000K will emphasize a modern, cool character in representative foyers.
• Installation: this is a hardwired fixture – plan a central power point and ensure the ceiling (including suspended ceilings) has adequate reinforcement for the lamp’s weight.
