The standard mounting height for a wall sconce is 160–180 cm from the floor, which roughly corresponds to the eye line of a standing person. In the bedroom, where the sconce serves as a bedside lamp, install it optimally 120–140 cm from the floor, i.e. 30–40 cm above the headboard. In the corridor, sconces hung higher — at 180–200 cm — will better illuminate the passage and not get in the way.
How many sconces do I need in the corridor?+
In a corridor, sconces are mounted every 200–250 cm, alternately on both sides or in one line. For a 4 m long corridor, two sconces are enough, and for 6 m — three. It is important that the light evenly illuminates the entire passage and does not create dark zones between fixtures.
