Alabaster does not reflect light like metal; it lets it through – the source diffuses into a soft, milky pool. Combined with cool brushed copper, it creates an effect you will not get with a glass shade: the stone only comes to life when it is lit. The height of 28 cm is a scale that works both by the bed and in the hallway, without drawing attention away from the rest of the interior.

Why this lamp?

Natural alabaster, so every piece has a different stone pattern and no two are identical.

Design and materials

In this form, alabaster and copper share the roles: the stone is responsible for the light and texture, the metal for the structure and the line that holds the fitting to the wall. The copper has not been polished to a high shine – brushing leaves a matt, subtly ribbed surface that diffuses reflections and does not show every touch. The stone behaves differently in every piece: some samples have distinct veins, others are more milky and uniform, which is especially visible when the light is on. At a height of 28 cm, the proportions remain calm, so the material detail works to its advantage instead of competing for attention with the rest of the room.

Light and comfort

Light passing through alabaster loses its directionality, so you will not find a sharp point or the glare typical of glass wall lights. Instead, there is a milky, hazy glow that is pleasant to the eye even when the lamp is on for several hours in the evening. You set the colour temperature with the light source: warm light around 2700 K brings out the stone’s honey tone and turns the wall by the bed into a cosy corner rather than a clinically white spot. Since the fitting is hardwired, plan the electrical outlet during the finishing works – reworking the wall later is simply inconvenient.
