Palermis - Modern wall sconce, black travertine and wood for living room, Ø17×12 cm

Are you looking for moody, focused light that not only illuminates the space but also brings a natural accent and a clear character to the interior? Palermis combines noble black travertine with dark walnut, creating a compact wall sconce that works like jewelry on the wall - discreetly, yet decisively.

It’s the choice when you want to take control of light: direct it where you need it while adding depth and material coherence to the arrangement.

Why this lamp?

Natural stone and wood → warm up the interior, introduce a noble texture and a timeless look.
Directional downlight → ideal for reading, accenting a shelf, console or bedside table.
Compact dimensions (Ø17 x 12,5 cm) and 28 cm projection → easy to plan a pair of sconces in the bedroom, hallway or above the sofa.
GX53 → simple matching with an LED or Edison bulb; you choose the color temperature and light intensity.
Hardwired + compatibility with standard switches → clean wall without visible cables, convenient control.

Design and materials

Palermis is a cylindrical form built from contrasting yet naturally coherent materials. The top and bottom of the cylinder are made of black travertine - a stone with a porous, deep texture that beautifully catches light and creates a subtle play of half-shadows on the surface. A band of wood in Dark walnut finish runs through the middle of the fixture. The warm walnut tone breaks the coolness of the stone and adds elegance to the whole.

The fixture is supported by a slim black metal arm and is mounted on a round rosette. The proportions are deliberately restrained: a 17 cm diameter allows for impeccable sense of scale in most rooms, and a 28 cm projection gives the lamp breathing room and a clear silhouette against the wall. Because travertine is a natural material, each piece has a unique pore pattern and nuances - you get a detail that won’t be a copy of any other.

Light and comfort

The Palermis construction directs light downward, creating a clear, functional beam where you need it - on a book, side surface, console or artwork under the sconce. At the same time, the stone and wood create a soft contrast that visually “warms” the point of light.

The standard GX53 socket means:
- easy selection of an LED or Edison bulb,
- the ability to shape the mood by choosing color temperature and wattage,
- quick installation and replacement of the light source.

We don’t impose a single lighting aesthetic - you decide whether you prefer mood lighting or task lighting.

Where it fits

Bedroom: a pair of sconces on both sides of the bed covers reading and evening ambiance without table lamps.
Living room: an accent by the sofa, above a console or near a gallery of artworks; it emphasizes wall texture and adds depth.
Hallway: the rhythm of several sconces guides the eye and organizes the space without over-illumination.
Study / small library: light directed at a shelf or side surface that doesn’t strain the eyes.

Black travertine and dark walnut pair beautifully with black details (frames, handles), walnut veneer, stone and modern, muted palettes (grays, beiges, bottle greens).

Variants

Selection tips

When planning a pair of wall sconces by the bed, install them so the light falls on the book, not into the eyes; usually the center of the fixture works well slightly above eye level when seated.
In a hallway, space the sconces at equal intervals so their beams gently “meet” on the wall; with neutral bulb power, a rhythm of about every 2 meters is often sufficient.
If you want a cozy atmosphere, choose a GX53 LED bulb with a warm color temperature; for reading or work a neutral color temperature is better.
Combine natural materials with each other: Palermis works beautifully with walnut veneer, black metal details, stone and textiles with pronounced texture.

Ready for light that organizes the space and enhances the character of your interior? Choose the Palermis variant, pick a GX53 bulb and see how the atmosphere of your home changes.
