Formakami - Asian table lamp, white and black 38 cm

Design and materials

Formakami is a contemporary interpretation of the lantern - a bright, paper shade with clean lines wrapped in black structural elements. The white surface of the rice paper gently transmits light, making the lamp appear light even on a dark surface, and when lit it creates a cozy, even glow.

Black metal and wood details define the form, maintain proportions and add graphic discipline. The white/black contrast helps tie different textures in the room together-from light walls to dark frames or handles-without needing to change the whole decor. The 38 cm diameter allows the shade to “breathe” above books, a vase or a tray of small items, and the 50 cm height provides a comfortable light level for relaxing, working on a laptop or evening reading.

The effect is minimalist but warm: the subtle grain of the rice paper visible in photos adds texture, while the black elements keep the form restrained so the whole is calm, elegant and easy to pair with other lighting in the home.

Where it fits

• Living room - on a dresser beside the sofa or on a side table; it builds a relaxation zone and organizes the composition of shelves or artwork above the furniture.
• Bedroom - on a bedside table; soft light for reading and discreet morning illumination without glare.
• Study/office - on a desk or console behind a chair; it softens screen contrast and improves work comfort.
• Hallway or dining room - on a console or sideboard; it greets with warm light and creates an elegant accent during dinner.
