Alabaster rarely looks like an ordinary shade – light passes through the milky stone slowly, with the vein pattern visible when backlit. In the Estremoz fitting this effect is multiplied: between four and thirteen alabaster elements are suspended from a steel frame, forming a vertical cluster from 26 to 87 cm high. The stone here is natural, so no two shades have an identical pattern. This alabaster pendant lamp suits places where the material is meant to take centre stage and the light is to stay warm and soft.

Why this lamp?

Natural alabaster instead of glass or plastic – the structure of the stone is visible when backlit and unique to each shade.
Four compositions measuring 26, 47, 67 and 87 cm in height let you match the cluster to the size of the table and the height of the room.

Design and materials

Stainless steel plays a discreet role here: it holds the shades upright, but almost vanishes against the backlit stone. Alabaster is matte on the surface and warm to the touch, with subtle streaks and discolourations that only become clearly visible once the lamp is switched on. Depending on the variant, the composition comprises 4, 7, 10 or 13 shades, with the height rising to 26, 47, 67 and 87 cm respectively. The more points there are, the more the cluster resembles a vertical installation rather than a classic fitting above a table – the form gains weight and presence. All the elements keep the natural colour of alabaster, with no dyeing or lacquer.

Light and comfort

The light from alabaster is warm and diffused – the integrated LEDs run at a warm colour, and the stone takes away their sharpness, so that the individual points merge into a single, soft glow. There is no cold, office-like white here to spoil the evening mood; the table looks good both at dinner and when reading. The more shades, the more evenly the light is distributed: leave the smaller variant for an intimate table, and the larger one for a dining room where several people sit. The composition is ceiling-mounted, so you set the height once, when hanging it – plan it so that the light falls on the tabletop rather than on the faces of those seated.
