A low ceiling does not have to mean giving up a distinctive fitting. This ceiling light is only 7 cm high, so it leaves clearance overhead, and the yellow travertine brings a warm, stone texture to the ceiling instead of yet another flat white.

EscríbenosA low profile, stone instead of plastic and warm light guided from the inside – that is all it takes for a ceiling fitting to stop being invisible. This travertine ceiling light is 7 cm high and has a yellow, warm tone that softens the cool character of a smooth ceiling. Jute rope at the base and acrylic underneath complete the composition. It is suitable wherever every centimetre overhead counts.
The shade is flat and wide, and its edge slopes gently downwards, so the body reads like a medallion attached to the ceiling. The yellow-toned travertine has a matt, porous surface where the stone veining is visible without polishing – unlike glass fittings, where transparency is what matters. Where the stone meets the base, jute rope appears; it is a detail that introduces grain and breaks the smoothness of the form. From below, acrylic closes everything off, covering the light source and giving the lower plane an even, milky tone. The height of 7 cm is a proportion that remains discreet against the ceiling and yet does not look like an ordinary white disc.
The colour is warm, not laboratory white, so in the evening in a hallway you get an effect closer to a candle than to an office panel. The acrylic diffuses the LED light across the entire lower plane, so you will see neither a bright spot nor hard shadows on the walls. Travertine works differently from glass here: it does not let light through, it holds and reflects it, so the ceiling gets a soft, stone-like glow. Since the LED is integrated, you do not choose the wattage or colour temperature – you get one warm version matched to this form. For rooms where the light simply has to be pleasant, that is enough; if you need a strong, directional beam for reading, plan an additional lamp.
