Here travertine and wood form a travertine pendant lamp that stays legible after dark too: the stone carries the pattern and the weight, the wood introduces a warmer tone, and the form orders both into a calm whole. It is a proposition for interiors where the suspension above the table is meant to be part of the composition, not an addition picked at the last moment. You can choose from three size configurations, from the version with a height of 31 cm to a layout of three light points spread over 60 cm. The 1.7 m cable can be shortened, so you can set the suspension height to suit your own tabletop and the height of your household members.

The stone takes centre stage: travertine in a yellow shade has a matt, porous surface in which grooves and streaks lie irregularly, which is why every piece looks a little different. Beside wood in a natural tone, two textures come together: one hard and cooler to the touch, and one warmer with a clear grain pattern. The form is economical, built from repeating elements, and the number of light points sets its rhythm when you look at the lamp from below. The finish stays within the natural palette of stone and wood, with no coating that would cover the structure of the material.

Travertine is opaque, so light does not pass through the stone the way it does through alabaster or glass. The stone reflects the light and warms it, and the texture pattern stays visible in the evening too. For a fixture like this, choose a light source with a warm colour: in cold, bluish light yellow travertine and wood lose their depth and look flat. If you hang the lamp above a table, take it lower than you would a ceiling light, so the light falls on the tabletop instead of scattering around the whole room. You can shorten the 1.7 m cable before hanging it, so you set the height once and never return to it when cleaning.
